In the past several years being around the sport. The inline game has developed and enhanced many ice hockey players to be most offensive players in ice hockey.
When you play inline there is a few things that are different then playing ice that make it more offensive. 4 players (2 defense and 2 forwards).
We play with only 4 players on the floor. this creates more space for a player to make a decision and allow more time to carry a puck. Which creates more confidence carrying a puck. If you do not have a puck, you other players have to get open. Going to open space without the puck... could that help a ice player?
There is no offsides or icings. So that means you can pass the puck from one end of the floor to the other end. . Do not have to slow down either which creates faster tape to tape passes and more room to go fast. INCREASE VISION AND PASSING SKILLS for an ice player...understands the real game of hockey.
There is no hitting: This allows players to hang on to puck a little bit more which enhances stickhandling and puck protection. Ice players learn how to drive the net better, not to mention tips,screens and better shooting percentage...could that help your ice player or you?
There is no pressure to win at all costs.Which can sometimes loose the desire to play for any player. Inline is fun we play music when stoppage in play. Allows player to relax and just have fun... this all generates more oppourtunites to score and love playing a different kind of hockey.
HEY, do not think, it is all about offense. What happens when you do not have the puck. Ok let's think..Where is the puck going? have to skate to pic up a check or get into a good defensive postioning to reduce a good scoring chance.... by the way if you hate defence, well then a 10-8 score sounds like fun to play. That is why this expression has merrit.
"Pond hockey without the Pond" games are alot of fun on the pond, no screaming coachs just a bunch of players ,no matter the sex. Just enjoying the game for what it is, A GAME
YORK creates a different venue for success whether you are competitive or recreational. The sport has world championships for the competitive player to reach the highest goal. that is why we have to different types of inline for those who want to be the best they can be (Hub - Housleague for rep ice players) and Recreational for those who want to just have fun and get better playing at a different speed (house league Ice players) . We also have Rep Rattlers who travel and play in tournaments such as Narch, TORHS and AAU Championships..
